MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police on Friday warned the public of fake priests who roam the different cemeteries and asking for money in exchange for praying and blessing the crypts of the dead.
Reverend Father Lucio Rosaroso, acting chief directorial staff of the PNP Chaplain service, also advised people who will be paying their respects to their departed relatives and loved ones to decline the prayers offered of these so-called men of cloth.
The prelate said real priests do not ask for money in exchange for prayers when they visit the cemeteries on All Saint's Day.
Priests usually bring their celebret or an identification card in which you can find the signature of the bishop and diocese he belongs to.
