Round-the-clock security, medical assistance in Taguig during Undas

Mike Frialde - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Taguig City government said it will provide round-the-clock security, medical services and traffic assistance in all of the city’s cemeteries on November 1 (All Saints Day) and November 2 (All Souls Day).

“We want to make this commemoration and tradition as comfortable and safe as possible and we will make sure that all medical emergencies will be responded to on time,” said Mayor Lani Cayetano, adding that several offices within the local government and the Taguig Police had collaborated to secure and provide the necessary assistance to nine cemeteries within the city.

Evelyn Arago, head of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), said they will secure nine cemeteries all-over the city.

The Taguig City government will also set-up help desks and first-aid tents will be strategically placed in all of the cemeteries for faster response time to any medical emergencies.

The local government has also ensured that all areas around the cemeteries and streets leading to cemeteries are well-lit.

Personnel from the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) and the Taguig Police will be deployed to the cemeteries starting October 31.

Motorists Assistance Centers will also be set up along the C5 Road manned by members of the Traffic Management Office (TMO), Taguig Rescue, POSO and Taguig Police.

Cayetano warned that those caught bringing liquor and deadly weapons inside cemeteries on November 1 and November 2 will be arrested.

“I encourage everyone to abide by the law. We will strictly enforce this prohibition and all those who will violate will be dealt with accordingly,” she said.
