Rob suspect slain in Laguna shootout

LAGUNA, Philippines – One of three suspected robbers was killed in a shootout with police officers in Biñan City before dawn yesterday.

The slain suspect was identified by businessman Alexander Vincent as one of three men who took his motorcycle in Barangay Antonio at around 1 a.m., said Superintendent Noel Aliño, Biñan police chief.

Aliño said the suspects, riding Vincent’s motorcycle, shot at the pursuing policemen who were about to corner them in Barangay Soro-Soro, Biñan.

Police recovered the victim’s bag from the slain suspect after the firefight.

The two other suspects managed to escape on Vincent’s motorcycle.
