Number coding scheme lifted on Oct. 31

Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will suspend the implementation of the unified vehicular volume reduction program or the number coding scheme on October 31.

MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said it would allow private vehicle owners in Metro Manila to go to their provinces for the observance of All Saint's Day.

However, the suspension order does not cover the cities of Makati and Las Pinas, which both have their own number coding scheme.

Earlier, the MMDA ordered that all provincial buses be allowed to pass through the underpasses along Edsa starting today, October 28.
