Cops foil smuggle of P6.7-M shabu

John Unson - The Philippine Star

COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Police arrested a couple and their companion for allegedly transporting a kilo of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.7 million here Monday night.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Rolen Balquin said informants tipped them off about the alleged attempt of Tato Felmin and his wife Alma to smuggle the drugs into the city from Maguindanao.

Balquin said the Felmins and their companion Fahad Guiamad were arrested in Barangay Balabaran, the city’s gateway to Maguindanao.

The suspects, who were in an Isuzu truck, did not resist when police officers asked them to disembark for inspection.

Police officers found the shabu in a shoulder bag hidden inside the vehicle’s compartment.

Balquin said the suspects were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency office here.
