UPLB student raped, robbed

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A 17-year-old student of the University of the Philippine-Los Baños was reportedly raped and robbed by a tricycle driver Wednesday night.

The victim, whose name was withheld, said she boarded a tricycle in Barangay Maahas, Los Baños at around 11:30 p.m. and asked the driver to take her to Barangay Paciano Rizal.

Along the IPB Road in Barangay Tuntungin-Putho, the driver reportedly stopped the tricycle and told the victim that they ran out of gas.

The driver told the girl to transfer to another tricycle. But when she alighted, the man allegedly poked a knife at her, dragged her to a grassy area, where she was raped.

The driver escaped,  taking the victim’s money and cell phone.

Police have yet to identify the suspect.
