Suspected drug trafficker, rapist hurt in Cotabato encounter

COTABATO CITY - Government operatives shot and wounded a notoriuos drug trafficker in an encounter in Maitum town on Tuesday.

Police identified the suspect as Norhan Guiambolanan, 38.

Guiambolanan attempted to shoot his way to escape from policemen and members of the 7th Marine Battalion, who were serving an arrest warrant issued against him by Judge Panambolan Mimbesa of the General Santos City Regional Trial Court Branch 37.

The suspect is also wanted for a case of rape and cattle theft.

Guiambolanan has been transferred to a police detention after he was presented before the local court.
