MANILA, Philippines - A robber died early Monday after he shot it out with a responding Makati City police officer shortly after robbing two passengers of a Guadalupe-bound jeepney.
Makati City Police chief, Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban said suspect Michael Angelo Khan, 25, of Senatorial Road, Barangay Batasan, Quezon City died on arrival at the Ospital ng Makati from the gunshot wounds he sustained.
Initial investigation showed that Khan was aboard the jeepney when he declared the heist at about 12:55 a.m. as the jeepney neared the corner of J.P. Rizal and Kakarong streets in Barangay Olympia.
Khan at gunpoint, police said, then began divesting passengers Stephanie Ann Acorda and Renz Alejandro Cayacap, both Makati residents, of their valuables.
