Girl, 12, killed by half-brother

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A 12-year-old girl was stabbed dead by her half-brother following a quarrel at their house in Pugo, La Union Friday.

Neighbors rushed Ara Bautista to a hospital, where she died while being treated for stab wounds in the chest and abdomen.

Bautista’s half-brother, Eddie Cuizon, 32, reportedly tried to make a pass on a friend of the victim, which resulted in a quarrel.

Police arrested Cuizon in a follow-up operation.
