Woman slain in Cavite ambush
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A woman was killed while seven others, including a village councilman, were wounded in an ambush in Imus City, Cavite Thursday afternoon.
Durian Pangandapon died while being treated at the EAC Hospital, according to Cavite police director Senior Superintendent Joselito Esquivel.
Wounded were Ibami Hadjiasis, Haifah Hadjiasis, Hadji Raihana Makalangan, Inacoya Taha, Jeffry Sanchez, Jamael Hadjitaha and Inocaya Hadjitaha, who were confined at the EAC Hospital and Asia Medic Hospital.
Superintendent Redrico Maranan, Imus police chief, said the victims were on their way home to Dasmarinãs when motorcycle-riding assailants waylaid them at around 5:30 p.m. along Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay Bayan Luma 8.
The victims had visited Pangandapon’s husband, who was detained at the police jail for alleged drug possession.
Police are still investigating the incident.
