7 hospitalized after QC condo fire

MANILA, Philippines - Seven persons were rushed on Friday to a hospital after the two-hour fire that hit condominium building near Ateneo de Manila University along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City.
Quoting a fire department official, a radio report said that the seven residents of the Prince David condominium have been hospitalized after experiencing difficulty in breathing due to the thick smoke.
No one was injured during the blaze which started around 12:40 p.m. on the upper floor of the building.
Arson investigators are looking at a short circuit in an electrical wiring of an air-conditioning unit on the 9th floor of the building as the possible cause of the fire.
