Group: SWS poll result does not mean 2nd term for PNoy

MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino III cannot still claim that the people would want him to run for a second term with the results of the latest survey by the Social Weather Station, militant group Bayan said Friday.
 
Bayan Secretary General Renato Reyes Jr. said the people will not support a second term of Aquino despite the good showing in the surveys by the President.
 
"Palace spokespersons will now use the results to boost the second-term ambitions of the president even if there is no legal basis for such. Whatever the survey results are, Aquino cannot claim that he deserves a second term nor that his performance is stellar. The people will not support a second term for Aquino," Reyes said.
 
He added that the Aquino administration will continuously be confronted by protests due to  the corruption in government, rising transport fares, low wages and human rights abuses.
