TL branch manager survives attack

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A man was shot dead after he allegedly tried to shoot a manager of a small town lottery (STL) branch of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Candelaria, Quezon Sunday night.

STL manager Gerardo dela Cruz was unhurt in the incident, as his security aide, Juvanie Consolacion, shot and killed the assailant who has yet to be identified, said town police chief Superintendent Arturo Brual Jr.

A 17-year-old boy identified as Renz Aguila was hit by a stray bullet and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Reports said Dela Cruz was at the PCSO compound in Barangay Maasin Sur when the gunman barged in and shot him but missed.
