2 dead, 9 hurt in Davao mishap

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Two persons died while nine others were injured when an Asian utility vehicle collided with a truck in Marilog District here yesterday morning.

Van driver Gilbert Badang and his passenger Elizabeth Alocelja died at the scene, while their companions were brought to a hospital for treatment.

The victims were on their way home to Digos City in Davao del Sur from a four-day evangelical mission in Bukidnon when they figured in an accident in Barangay Tamugan.

Authorities detained the truck driver whose name was not immediately available.
