Son of ex-Masbate vice guv shot dead

MANILA, Philippines - A son of a former vice governor of Masbate province was shot dead by a lone gunman before dawn Thursday.

Police identified the victim as Enrico Legaspi, son of former Masbate vice governor Edgar Legaspi.

The victim was with his friends inside the Hums Cup Coffee Shop in Barangay F. Magallanes when a lone gunman entered the establishment and shot him at close range. The incident happened at past 1 a.m.

The suspect, later identified as Arnel Rovera, was lynched by Legaspi's friends.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the attack.
