Drug suspect slain in shootout

CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines – A suspected drug pusher was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in Peñaranda town, Nueva Ecija Friday night.

Ronaldo Balagtas died at the scene after an exchange of gunfire with a team of arresting officers, led by Police Officer 2 Nestor Ison and Senior Inspector Rod Clemente, in Barangay Poblacion.

Investigators recovered bullet shells for a caliber .38 pistol at the scene, a motorcycle and an undetermined amount of drugs.
