MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a 40-year-old woman after she yielded P1.8 million worth of illegal drugs during a raid in Maguindanao.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Aisa Pudong Mamasaingad, a sari-sari store owner, of National Highway Upper Capiton, Magelco Area, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.
Reports indicate that last September 9 around 6:30 a.m., elements of PDEA Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) served a search warrant issued by Judge Bansawan Ibrahim, Al Haj, Executive Judge, 12th Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court Branch 13, Cotabato City against Mamasaingad inside her residence.
Confiscated from her possession were three plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance of suspected shabu weighing approximately 200 grams, a digital weighing scale and several empty sachets in assorted sizes.
Seized pieces of drug evidence were brought to the PDEA ARMM laboratory for forensic examination, while Mamasaingad is temporarily detained at the PDEA ARMM jail facility.
Mamasaingad now faces charges for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 12 (Possession of Equipment and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
