Woman found dead in Iloilo

MANILA, Philippines - A 20-year-old woman was found dead with 17 stab wounds in Sara town, Iloilo Saturday morning.

Rema Are of Barangay Tubugan, Ajuy town could have been stabbed with a screwdriver or ice pick in her face, legs and back, said Senior Inspector Gilbert Archide, Sara police chief.

Are was found along the highway in Barangay Fabriaga.

Archide said probers also found bite wounds on the victim’s arms and her head was hacked.

He said there were no signs showing the victim was sexually molested.

An autopsy examination has yet to be conducted on the victim.

Archide said they have leads on the identities of her assailants but he refused to elaborate.

He said the victim was an employee of a grocery in Ajuy.
