2 Abus arrested in Tawi-Tawi, Basilan

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Two suspected members of the Abu Sayyaf have been arrested in separate police and military operations, police said yesterday.

Mobin Hailil, alias Kah Humbo was nabbed in Barangay Sanga-Sanga in Bongao town at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Center for Transnational Crime.

Hailil was tagged in kidnapping incidents in Mabbul Island off Malaysia. 

Meanwhile, joint police and military intelligence operatives captured Jauhari Idris, with the aliases Jal and Boy Tinik Idris, in a village in Lamitan City, Basilan before dawn on Monday.

Idris has a standing warrant for kidnapping with serious illegal detention issued by a court in Basilan.

The arrests came a few hours after another suspected Abu Sayyaf member, Abdul Asmaril Lampas, a native of Ungkaya Pukan town near Lamitan was shot dead by unidentified men.
