High school student electrocuted in Makati

MANILA, Philippines - A fourth year high school student was killed on Monday night after being electrocuted in Makati City.

A report reaching the Makati Police identified the victim as Carena Lizano, 17, of 8484 Trabajo St., Barangay Olympia.

According to the report, Lizano was walking along Hormiga St. in Barangay Olympia at about 8 p.m. and was on her way to a neighborhood store to buy food.

While walking, the report said, the victim was blocked by a flooded portion of the street. The victim then reached toward an electric post for support when she reportedly touched a live wire.

Lizano was rushed to the Ospital ng Makati by responding barangay watchmen but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Jericho Bautista at 8:40 pm.
