'Love triangle' eyed in Enzo Pastor slay

MANILA, Philippines — "Love triangle" could be the reason behind the killing of racing champion Enzo Pastor last June 12.

The latest angle in Enzo's killing came out as policemen arrested a businessman from Parañaque City during an operation in Muntinlupa City on Tuesday night.

The businessman, allegedly the mastermind in Pastor's killing, has yet to be identified by the authorities.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said in radio reports Wednesday that the businessman is suspected of paying Pasay City Police Officer 2 Edgar Angel an amount of P100,000 to kill Pastor in Quezon City.

Angel was also arrested Tuesday by the Quezon City police.

Authorities are eyeing "love triangle" among Pastor, his wife and the businessman as a possible motive in the killing.

Major Rodel Marcelo, chief of the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said in an interview with Bombo Radyo that Pastor's wife, Dalia, was reportedly acquainted with the businessman before the killing.

Police and Pastor's family earlier suspected that the slay was due to rivalries or betting in the racing circuit.

Pastors' parents, meanwhile, refused to comment on the matter as of the moment. - Camille Diola
