2 nabbed for drug pushing

NORTH COTABATO, Philippines   – A man and his partner, reportedly wanted for supplying drugs in schools, was arrested in Kidapawan City Sunday.

Christian Casayuran, 31, and Leona Velasco, 34, did not resist arrest when a team of police officers raided their house on Datu Ingkal street.

City police chief Superintendent Gilbert Tuzon said the suspects had been under surveillance for a month.         

The raiding team recovered several plastic sachets allegedly containing shabu and drug paraphernalia from the house.

Police will file charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, against the suspects today.
