LPA to bring rain to most of Phl

Ghio Ong, Helen Flores - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A low-pressure area (LPA) off Guiuan, Eastern Samar is not expected to intensify into a tropical cyclone but will continue to bring rains in most parts of the country in the next few days.

The LPA was spotted some 270 kilometers northeast of Guiuan as of 10 a.m. yesterday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

“This weather system will bring light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over the Bicol and Visayas regions, as well as in Mindanao and the  provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon and Quezon,” the weather bureau said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Forecaster Robert Sawi earlier said no tropical cyclone is likely to affect the country in the remaining days of the month.
