Bebot Sison Jr., Cecille Suerte Felipe - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - At least 500 sacks of National Food Authority (NFA) rice, allegedly repacked into commercial rice, were seized by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Camarines Sur yesterday.

CIDG chief Director Benjamin Maga-long said the sacks of rice were seized following a raid on the warehouse of Sweet Fortune in Barangay Mabolo in Naga City.

Magalong said the raid was conducted by NFA agents and members of CIDG-Camarines Sur, led by Senior Superintendent Benjie Silo.

The alleged owner of the warehouse, identified as Sarah Jane Dy-Teklo Yao, was not around during the raid.

Last month, CIDG and NFA authorities raided several warehouses in Bulacan, where NFA rice was repacked as commercial rice.
