3 hurt in Sultan Kudarat gun attack

COTABATO CITY, Philippines - Gunmen shot and wounded a Moro woman and her two daughters in a daring attack Sunday night in nearby Barangay Katamlanan in Sultan Kudarat.

Investigators said the suspects, brandishing assault rifles, casually approached the house of Jehan Lasebal and opened fire, wounding her and her children, Johaira, 10, and Baitukol, 7.

The gunmen scampered away immediately after the shooting frenzy.

The victims, who sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies, were rushed by responding barangay officials and community watchmen to a hospital.

The local police is still clueless on the identities of the culprits and their motive for their attack.
