6 Indonesians nabbed for smuggling cigarettes

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The Philippine Coast Guard yesterday arrested  six Indonesians and two Filipinos in Sarangani Bay for smuggling cigarettes into the country.

The suspects reportedly had 27 boxes of Garam Indonesian cigarettes on the M/V Marco-3 when the boat was apprehended in the waters off Sapu Masla in Malapatan town.

Frankie Salimlisang and  Dalan Carlos, both 46; Edward Calindisang, 21; Junior Bordeman, 22; Richard Siryang, 33; and Harsono Odingan, 36, are residents of Tahuna Island in East Indonesia.

The two Filipinos were identified as Eduardo Crisostomo, 53, and Elmer Pasculado, 27, both residents of General Santos City. 

The seized cigarettes were  turned over to the Bureau of Customs.
