Caloocan cop, 2 others fall in Nueva Ecija raid

MANILA, Philippines - A Caloocan City policeman and two others were nabbed by anti-narcotics operatives during a raid in a house in Nueva Ecija, seizing illegal drugs and several high-powered firearms, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
 
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspects as Police Officer 1 Danilo Ingalla Jr., 42, a member of the Caloocan City Police; and his son, Danilo Louie Ingalla III, 20, both of Barangay Zamora, Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija; and Ryan Julian, 36, of Barangay Sumacab Sur, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.
 
Reports said that last August 8, around 2 p.m., agents of PDEA Regional Office 3 (PDEA RO3), along with the local police armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Cielitolindo Luyun of Regional Trial Court Branch 36, Gapan City, raided the Ingalla residence in Barangay Zamora, arresting the three suspects.
 
Recovered inside Ingalla’s house were four plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, various drug paraphernalia, a caliber 5.56 Colt , AR-15 A2 M16 rifle with a magazine loaded with 20 pieces of live ammunition, two magazines of M16 loaded with 31 pieces of live ammunition, three cartons of ammunition for caliber 5.56 loaded with 82 pieces of live ammunition, a high-capacity magazine for caliber.45 loaded with eight pieces of live ammunition, and a 12-gauge shotgun.
 
Confiscated from the possession of Danilo III and Julian were three small sachets of suspected shabu, a plastic sachet of dried marijuana leaves and assorted drug paraphernalia.
 
The seized illegal drugs with an estimated weight of 22 grams were brought to the PDEA RO3 laboratory for forensic examination.
 
The suspects will be charged for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Equipment and Other Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
 
A separate case for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) will be filed in court against the elder Ingalla.
