Bodies of drowned boys in Agno River recovered

MANILA, Philippines - The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Friday recorded two persons killed due to the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Jose that hit the country recently.

In its latest update, the NDRRMC said rescuers have recovered the bodies of  Ronald Perez, 14; and Rod el Javillonar,15, two days after they jumped off a hanging bridge to swim the raging Agno River in Bautista, Pangasinan last Aug. 5.

The rescue team recovered the cadavers of the two teenage boys two kilometers from where they were last seen, the state emergency response agency said.

Meanwhile, the NDRRMC also said that the total affected families by the inclement weather has ballooned to over 4,000 families or almost 16,000 persons in Pangasinan, Ilocos Norte and Bataan.

Of the total affected families, around 500 are being served outside the evacuation sites in Pangasinan, the NDRRMC added.
