LTFRB tells trucks: Avoid roads leading to Philippine Arena on INC centennial

MANILA, Philippines - The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board on Thursday advised all trucks-for-hire to refrain passing roads leading to the venue of the Centennial Anniversary of the Iglesia ni Cristo.

In consultation with Task Force Sentenaryo, which handles all government actions and responses in connection with the INC Centennial Celebration, the LTFRB identified the areas that trucks-for-hire should refrain from passing through.

These areas include the North Luzon expressway (NLEX) from Balintawak tollgate-Angeles City exit and vice versa, McArthur Highway, Cagayan Valley  Road from Sta. Rita exit and all provincial roads that will be used as parking areas of buses and UV express bringing INC members to the event.

The Centennial Celebration this Sunday will be held in the newly constructed Philippine Arena, the largest indoor domed facility in the world, situated in Bocaue, Bulacan.

Except trucks with perishable goods, all trucks-for-hire are advised not to pass through the areas from July 26 to July 28 to prevent creating traffic jam.

“Pinapaaalahan namin ang mga trucks-for-hire operators na ngayon pa lang ay magplano na sila ng ibang ruta na dadaanan para di maabala ang kanilang pagde-deliver ng kanilang mga kalakal at maiwasan din natin ang build-up ng mahabang trapiko sa nabanggit na mga lugar,” LTFRB chairman Winston Ginez said.

Preparations are in full swing for the event with INC chapters in various areas in the country, arranging transport services to bring its members to the event. An estimated one million INC members will be attending the celebration.
