Cop dies of heart attack

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines   – A police officer died of heart attack as he was arresting a suspect in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija on Sunday.

Police Officer 2 Avelino Bustos of the San Jose City police was responding to a call for police assistance in Barangay Calaocan, along with Police Officer 2 Ricky Canceran, when he suffered a heart attack, said Senior Superintendent Crisaldo Nievez, director of the Nueva Ecija police.

Nievez said Bustos collapsed as he was putting the handcuffs on Ambo Graneta who was accused of creating trouble in the area.

Authorities have launched a manhunt for Graneta who fled after Bustos collapsed.
