Pusher nabbed in entrapment operation
MAGUINDANAO, Philippines – Lawmen arrested on Friday a notorious drug trafficker while in the act of selling P20,000 worth of shabu to an agent disguised as an ordinary drug dependent.
Felimon Ruiz, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), said the suspect, Jun Silongan, yielded peacefully when PDEA operatives cuffed him while about to receive the payment for the shabu he had handed over to poseur-buyer.
Ruiz said Silongan was into large-scale distribution of shabu in Cotabato City and nearby Maguindanao towns.
Ruiz said PDEA agents recovered from Silongan’s possession a caliber .45 pistol, several sachets of Shabu, and drug sniffing paraphernalia that were hidden in his hideout.
Silongan is now at the detention facility of the PDEA-ARMM in Cotabato City.
Ruiz said they will charge Silongan with violation of the 2002 Dangerous Act, also known as Republic Act 9165, at a local court on Monday.
