LGUs suspend classes for ‘Glenda’

MANILA, Philippines - Several local government units have suspended classes today after Metro Manila was placed under signal number one due to Typhoon Glenda.

Pateros suspended classes at all levels in public and private schools.

Muntinlupa City and Las Piñas suspended classes for pre-school and elementary students in both public and private schools today.

Makati, Quezon City, Valenzuela, Mandaluyong and Marikina has suspended classes today for pre-school, elementary and high school students.

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada suspended classes for pre-school and elementary students yesterday, saying he just wants “to keep them safe.”

He said yesterday that he is still monitoring the weather to determine if he will suspend classes today.

State weather experts reported that Glenda entered the Philippine area of responsibility Sunday night.
