Raymund Catindig - The Philippine Star

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines  – Village officials of Tana in Amulung, Cagayan had a gloomy payday after their salaries were reportedly stolen by bag slashers from their chairman in a tricycle here last weekend.

Police said Barangay Tana head Recto Catuiran, along with secretary Henry Turingan, decided to go to a shopping mall after withdrawing P84,000 from a Landbank branch. They boarded a tricycle with three female passengers.

After alighting from the tricycle, Catuiran told police he discovered that his bag containing P64,000 of what he had withdrawn was slashed, and the money was missing.
