2 more Maguindanao clans reconcile

John Unson - The Philippine Star

MAGUINDANAO, Philippines – Leaders of two more feuding Moro families swore over the Qur’an last Tuesday to end their decades-old “rido” (clan war) that had left dozens of people from both sides dead.

Last month, five Iranon families from the first district also settled their conflicts through the efforts of the inter-agency provincial peace and order council.

The Utto and Kabugatan clans in adjoining Sultan sa Barongis and Rajah Buayan towns agreed to reconcile last Tuesday through the joint intercession of Gov. Esmael Mangudadatu and Brig. Gen. Edmundo Pangilinan of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division.
