P’sinan gov distributes farm inputs
LINGAYEN, Philippines – In a move to further boost the agricultural productivity of Pangasinan farmers, Gov. Amado Espino Jr. distributed farm inputs, including palay seeds and fertilizers, this week.
In three separate meetings with farmers in the province’s six districts, Espino gave away a total of 14,000 bags of organic and inorganic fertilizers, 4,750 bags of certified palay seeds, 100,000 tilapia fingerlings, and 12,000 fruit tree saplings.
The distribution was made at the Pangasinan State University campus in Sta. Maria town, the provincial government’s agricultural nursery in San Quintin town, and the OPAG field office in Sta. Barbara town.
Recipients of the farm inputs came from the towns of Sta. Maria, Rosales, Balungao, Asingan, San Manuel, San Quintin, Umingan, Tayug, Natividad, and San Nicolas.
Each town received 100 bags of certified palay seeds, 200 bags of urea fertilizer, 200 bags of complete (14-14-14) fertilizer, and 1,000 bags of organic fertilizer.
Similar projects were earlier carried out in Bugallon town in 2012, and Alaminos City and Burgos and Bani towns in 2013.
