Bounty in hotelier’s killing now P1.3 M

The Philippine Star

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The bounty for any information leading to the arrest of the gunman of prominent businessman and hotelier Richard King is now P1.3 million.

King’s family initially put up a P200,000 cash reward and Mayor Rodrigo Duterte came up with an additional P300,000.

Senior Superintendent Vicente Danao Jr., Davao City police chief, said King’s family decided to increase the reward to P1.3 million.

Authorities have released the triggerman’s composite sketch based on witnesses’ descriptions.

The gunman did not cover his face when he casually entered the Vital C Health and Wellness Products building along Sobrecary Street here and shot King in the head on the night of June 12.

King was eating dinner with his staff and was just waiting for his return flight to Cebu when he was gunned down.

King’s remains were flown to Cebu City last Saturday while a special police task force has been formed to further investigate the case.

King headed the J. King & Sons Co. Inc., developer of Crown Regency, Club Ultima and the City Suites Ramos Tower in Cebu City.

King also owned the Crown Regency Hotel along Cabaguio Avenue here and in Makati City. He was also the founder and director of Boracay Multiple Properties Inc. that established the Crown Regency Boracay Resort.
