Power outages scheduled in 7 Pampanga towns today
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga , Philippines – Seven municipalities in this province will experienced power interruptions today due to the scheduled shutdown of some transmission facilities, according to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP).
Ernest Lorenz Vidal, Central Luzon Corp. communication and public affairs officer, said the affected towns are Sta. Rita, Bacolor, Sasmuan, Porac, Lubao, Guagua, and Floridablanca.
The power interruptions will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Vidal said.
The affected distribution utilities are the Pampanga II Electric Cooperative Inc. and San Fernando Electric Light and Power Co. Inc.
Vidal cited the need to facilitate the annual preventive maintenance of a 1.5 MVA transformer and its equipment at the Basa station in Floridablanca town and the replacement of old wooden poles along the Hermosa-Guagua 69-kV line.
He said normal operations will immediately resume after work is completed.
The NGCP advised the public to take necessary precautions during the power interruption.
