Vhong's 3rd rape case submitted for resolution in QC

Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The rape case filed by a female body double against TV host and actor Vhong Navarro before the Quezon City Prosecutors' Office has been submitted for resolution.

This after Navarro, assisted by his lawyers, filed a rejoinder before the Assistant City Prosecutor Nilda Ordono in connection with the rape case lodged against him by Margarita Fajardo.

Fajardo filed the rape case last April. It was the third rape case filed against the TV host after he was mauled by the group of businessman Cedric Lee at a condo unit in Taguig City occupied by model Deniece Cornejo.

Fajardo had worked as a female body double in a telenovela that casted Navarro.

In her four-page complaint, Fajardo alleged that the sexual assault happened during the last few weeks of the taping of the telenovela inside a sports utility vehicle in 2009.

During a break in their taping, Fajardo claimed she was lured into the SUV by Navarro, thinking that the actor only wanted to inquire something from her.

At the filing of Navarro's rejoinder on Thursday morning, Cornejo's relatives and Roxanne Cabanero, another alleged rape victim of the actor, showed their support to Fajardo.

Cabanero's and Cornejo's relatives shouted invectives at Navarro as he and his bodyguards made their way to the Prosecutors' office on the fourth floor of the Quezon City Hall of Justice.

Cabanero threw her sunglasses and another person hurled a bottle cap at Navarro but both missed the actor.
