3 family members nabbed for drugs in CDO
MANILA, Philippines - A family of three suspected drug pushers – father, mother and son were arrested after they were caught selling methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, during a buy bust in their house in Cagayan de Oro City.
Director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspects as Rolly Alawi, 63, a former city hall employee; his wife, Salam, 51; and son, Jalil, 30, cell phone technician. All are residents of Yacapin Extension, Barangay 35, Cagayan de Oro City.
A report from PDEA showed that last May 26, around 3 p.m., elements of PDEA Regional Office 10 conducted a buy-bust operation at the Alawis’ residence in Barangay 35 which led to their arrests.
Confiscated during the operation were 18 plastic sachets of shabu, weighing more or less 35 grams, several drug paraphernalia, a cal. 45 pistol loaded with eight pieces of live ammunition, a motorcycle, and green Toyota Revo.
The Alawises are now detained at PDEA RO10 jail facility while authorities prepare cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, against them.
