Businesswoman shot dead in front of home in QC

MANILA, Philippines - A masked gunman shot dead a 53-year-old businesswoman as she was about to board a taxicab in front of their home in Quezon City, Thursday afternoon.

Police said that Carmencita Soliman was getting on the cab in front of their home in Villa Espana Subdivision, Barangay Tatalon at around 2:50 p.m. when two men, one armed with a gun, shot the victim twice.

Soliman's sister, Catalina and their friend Pedro Masindo Jr. were already inside the cab.

The gunman and his companion were both wearing caps, jackets and masks.

Soliman died from gunshot wounds in the back of her body and face.
