Andrea Rosal blames PNoy for baby's death

MANILA, Philippines - The daughter of the late New People's Army spokesman Roger Rosal on Wednesday blamed the Aquino administration for the death of her two-day old baby.

"Walang ibang dapat managot...kundi ang gobyerno ni  President Benigno Aquino III na patuloy na humuhuli at nagsasampa ng gawa-gawang kaso," Rosal said as she arrived at the wake of her baby Diona Andrea at the Iglesia Filipina Independiente National Cathedral, Taft Avenue, Manila.

She said her baby would still be alive if she was not arrested in the first place on trumped up charges filed against her by authorities.

"Hindi mangyayari sa aming mag-ina ito kung hindi ako ikinulong sa kasong hindi ko naman ginawa," Rosal added.

Rosal, who was 17 minutes late of the scheduled arrival of 2 p.m. at the wake, was escorted by several uniformed members of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology from Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City , where she is detained.

Still visibly weak over her loss, Rosal was wheeled in inside the Cathedral and asked for 30 minutes to grieve beside the casket of her daughter.

A Pasig City court has allowed Rosal to attend the wake of her baby in Manila "in the interest of compassionate justice."

Rosal will be allowed to stay at the wake for three hours, from 2 p.m. up to 5 p.m.

The court however denied Rosal's request to attend her baby's burial on May 22 in Ibaan, Batangas.

Rosal, who was then seven months pregnant, was arrested by authorities in a house in Caloocan City on March 27 for murder charges.

Her baby died at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Philippine General Hospital in Manila on Sunday owing to hypoxemia or oxygen deficiency in the blood.
