DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines – Twenty-one college students from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore joined city and education officials and other foreign volunteers in cleaning and repairing school facilities here in Monday’s kick-off of Brigada Eskwela or the National Schools Maintenance Week.

Volunteers led by Mayor Belen Fernandez and City Schools Division superintendent Gloria Torres initially went to the Caranglaan Elementary School.

Fernandez donated paints, electrical supplies and other materials to the public schools.

She also inspected the different schools to check if their facilities are still conducive for learning.
