Retired US Naval man, wife's bodies found in Bataan - report

MANILA, Philippines - A retired US Naval base employee and his wife were found dead in their house in Bataan, Tuesday morning.

Quoting Senior Inspector Gerald Bautista, local police chief, a radio report said that the bodies of  Rogelio Cortes and wife Flora were found on the terrace of their house in Barangay Sapa in Samal town.

The report said that the victims were apparently bludgeoned to death as there were several bruises and contusions on the bodies.

Authorities suspect that burglars barged inside the house and killed the couple, the report added.
