Ex-Army corporal nabbed for shooting in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested a retired Army corporal for firing his gun repeatedly in his neighborhood in Cavite Thursday night.

Policemen hauled off to jail Dioscoro Martinez, a  retired enlisted personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippine, after indiscriminately firing his cal.45 pistol at Anuling, Mendez town, Cavite on May 15.

Authorities seized from Martinez his gun with just a loaded bullet in its magazine.

Police investigators also recovered from the scene four empty shells of a cal.45 pistol.

The suspect and confiscated items are now under the custody of Mendez Municipal Police Station.

Chief Superintendent Jesus Gatchalian, Calabarzon police regional director, said Martinez will be facing illegal gun raps.
