Kidapawan mulls uniform color for all tricycles

John Unson - The Philippine Star

KIDAPAWAN CITY, Philippines – City Mayor Joseph Evangelista and his subordinate-planners are now initiating a study on the viability of allocating counterpart funds for the repainting of all tricycles here with only one standard color.

Evangelista is keen on adopting a standard uniform color scheme for all of the 2,800 tricycles both as a security measure and to account for all passenger tricycles plying the city’s thoroughfares.

The city council is now deliberating on a proposed ordinance that would set a single standard color for all tricycles here.

Most owners of tricycles complained, during initial public hearings, of monetary constraints that could make it difficult for the to comply with the ordinance once passed by the Sangguniang Panglungsod.

The office of Evangelista is now studying the legality of possibly helping fund the repainting of each of the tricycles, whose owners would have to repay on installment basis.
