Truck driver in Quezon road mishap surrenders - report

MANILA, Philippines - The driver of the truck involved in the fatal accident in Quezon Wednesday has surrendered to police.

A radio report said police have taken custody of Jesus Granada of Brgy. Buluatos, San Miguel, Bulacan.

Granada is the driver of the truck that sideswiped a Raymond bus along Diversion Road in Barangay Lalig Tiaong, Quezon Wednesday dawn.

During the road mishap, two passengers of the bus --three-year-old Precious Denise Simura, from Valenzuela City and Neil Tabuzo, 25, from Camarines Sur-- were killed.

Meanwhile those injured were Ernanie Versoza, 53; Robinson Arcilla, 63; Julita Bergonio, 65; Ernesto Siruma, 68; Antonio Sarmiento, 38; Eargel Siruma, 9; Gil Ejandra, 26; Cristine Irish Kano Agustino, 7; Arlene Kano Agustino, 46; Jeffrey Lorenzo, 17; Evelyn Lorenzo, 41; Analou Siruma, 21; and Whisley Matthew Robosa, 7.

Police are now preparing to file charges against Granada.  - Iza Iglesias
