MANILA, Philippines - Authorities nabbed a suspected member of a drug ring operating in Tuguegarao City during a raid in Cagayan, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Wednesday.
The PDEA said Sergio Eclipse, 34, a timekeeper in a construction firm and resident of Luna Street, Ugac Sur, Tuguegarao was hauled off to jail after several grams of shabu were seized from his house.
Eclipse is a target-listed drug personality included in the authorities' Order of Battle.
Belated reports reaching PDEA showed that last May 8, anti-narcotics agents and the Philippine National Police personnel served a search warrant issued by Judge Vilma Pauig of Regional Trial Court Branch 2, Tuguegarao City at Eclipse's house around 6:30 p.m.
Authorities seized more or less 20 grams of suspected shabu, contained in eight pieces of plastic sachets, a cal. 38 Magnum revolver, 18 pieces of empty shells, a cal. 9mm pistol, 21 pieces of 9mm live ammunition and assorted drug paraphernalia.
On top of illegal gun raps, Eclipse will be charged for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, before the Office of the City Prosecutor.
