2 dead, 3 hurt in Taguig car crash

MANILA, Philippines - Two persons were killed while three others were injured after their car slammed into the center island along C5 Road in Taguig City, before dawn Monday.

Police have yet to release the identities of the fatalities.

The injured victims were John Carlo Mariano, Jaime Partinas and Robert Roa, all 19 years old.

Police said that the car driven by  Mariano was speeding along the service road and when it reached C5 Road, the vehicle went out of control and rammed into the center island's wall.

The vehicle rolled several times, throwing two of its occupants out of the car.

Responding policemen recovered from the wrecked vehicle a gun, a knife and several ammunition.

Authorities are investigating the accident.
