DA's 'Ulat sa Bayan' held in Sarangani
SARANGANI, Philippines --- Hundreds of peasants participated in the Department of Agriculture’s “Ulat sa Bayan†on Thursday where the agency detailed its projects in Central Mindanao.
The event, organized by the office of Amalia Jayag- Datukan, regional director of DA for Region 12, was held a simultaneous with the 17th National Dairy Congress in General Santos City, where Agriculture Secretary Proceso Alcala was guest of honor.
The dairy congress was capped off by trade exhibits showing modern technology on dairy production.
Some of the exhibits also showed the success of government and the country’s dairy production sector in improving the industry's competitiveness.
Datukan said she is thankful to local officials and the region’s business and agriculture sectors for supporting the Ulat sa Bayan and the dairy congress.
Datukan said some 800 peasants joined in the Ulat sa Bayan, held at Glan, a coastal town in Sarangani. - John Unson
