Cavite barangay official shot dead

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines   â€“ A 38-year-old barangay councilman was gunned down along the national highway in Trece Martires City, Cavite early yesterday morning, police said.

Reports said Barangay Cabuco councilman Ronald Cale was driving his black Toyota Corolla along Governor’s Drive when he was waylaid upon reaching Barangay Hugo Perez at around 3:50 a.m. yesterday.

Cale died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds from an M-16 Armalite rifle.

Police investigators were still clueless on the killing. 

Cavite police are now conducting a follow-up operation to pursue Cale’s assailants.
